Creative use of Grainy Texture Paste
Hi friends,
I am back again with yet another blog post .This time would be talking about creating some pastes
from grainy texture paste ,a product recently introduced by Itsybitsy. The pastes are quite versatile and
uptil now most of us use them to add texture.Today I am going to make colored texture paste and use
them as coloring medium for my mix media project.Hope you find the step by step useful.I have tried
to include a video but do excuse any mistakes as it is my first time making a video!!.
I have created a mix media circle called FREEDOM.This is a ply base around 8mm thick.Have used
some natural twigs and some moulds to create this piece. Some pics of in process work.
.Once my pastes were done I applied them with thick hog bristle brush in dry brushing manner. The
end result is like this.I am quite happy with the result and love how the grainy paste adds another
dimension to my work. Thanks are again due to Rashmi Harish for trusting me with this product.I
have included a video of the coloring process and hope you are able to view it and gather some
tips. Please visit this link for the process video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKCmSa8Fpp0

Once my composition was ready it was time to decide the coloring. For this I created some texture
paste for coloring. As I decided to do the background in somewhat patina shades I used Itsybitsy
tinted metallics,Lime crush and Caribbean teal mixed with Grainy texture paste to create my own
pastes. Also I decided to give the middle part some rust look. For the rust pastes I created a reddish
paste with acrylic color Indian red and burnt sienna mixed with grainy paste and Indian yellow mixed
with grainy paste for yellow shade. Some pics for reference please:
