Hi friends,
Ruchi here. I am back again with yet another altered project. It has been a good run for past six months and I have enjoyed creating for you and with Little Birdie products. The term of six months seemed to have flown by rather quickly.
I have used the awesome flowers which are so unique in terms of formation and the colors. I absolutely love everything about them. I have used an old bottle to make this altered project.
                                             VINTAGE ALTERED BOTTLE

STEP BY STEP PROCESS
STEP 1: The first step is to decide what you want to use your creative energy for! Of course my all time favorite activity is to alter objects as I love the whole recycling thing. For this project I have used an old bottle as a base. A little tip for all of you struggling with the labels on the bottle. Just dip your bottle in lukewarm water and some vinegar in a bucket. Leave overnight and just peel of the sticker. This works best as applying heat with heat gun does not give results with strong glues.
I gathered a bottle, some chipboard shapes and Little Birdie Stone Texture Paste.

I have taken a laser printout of a vintage lady which I have coated with varnish twice and pasted on to a bubble design chipboard.

I took some chipboard and coated them with white gesso. Although these chipboard are pre-primed, I wanted another layer as I was not sure how I was going to color it at this point.
STEP 2 : Next ,I decided to add some texture to the bottle and used Mont Marte Modelling Paste and a Little Birdie stencil. Also used some Stone Texture Paste. I must say, the paste is so good that it stuck to the nonporous glass base with ease and did not slip or come off the bottle despite its vertical position.

STEP 3 : Once I pasted all the elements with gel medium I let the project dry for about 12 hours as wanted everything to be absolutely dry and again glass being non porous, did not want to take any chances. Once dry, I coated the whole bottle with black chalk paint. I did some dry brushing with other shades of chalk paints .

STEP 4 : After coloring the base, it was time to start embellishing the project with beautiful flowers in totally unusual shades. This remains my most exciting time of working on any project. I was extremely happy with the outcome and hope you all will enjoy.

Hi friends,
A big hello to you all from Ruchi. I am very excited to share yet another project, which is more of a shabby chic style work. Just cant get over the beautiful Little Birdie flowers and so decided to create yet another project keeping them in focus.
I called this altered hoop 'Sheer Magic' as I have used a sheer cloth to enhance the beauty of the flowers.
PROJECT : SHEER MAGIC ALTERED HOOP

Step By Step Process
Step 1: The first step of course is an idea that formed in my mind as to what I wanted to achieve with this project. As the objective was to showcase the flowers, I chose a sheer material to give an ethereal feel to the composition. I chose some organza fabric from my stash to adhere to the embroidery hoop.

Also, I gathered other supplies like chipboard, paints, glitter glue, and flowers.
Step 2: Next, I decided to give the hoop some distressed color effect matching the material. Also gave some glitter treatment to the already primed chipboard with Fairy Sparkle - Mocha. Once the base color was dry on the hoop, I applied some candle wax and than painted with a lighter shade.  Once that dried naturally, I distressed the edges with sandpaper.  I stretched the sheer material on the hoop and neatly cut the excess from behind.

Step 3: Now, to add some interest to the hoop, I decided to use Twinkle Melange - Star Sparkle in silver color. I used a hard brush to spread glue at the bottom section of the hoop to give it some shine and sparkle. I was extremely happy with the results achieved!

At this stage I pasted the sentiment, which was already dry

Step 4: Next, I laid out all the flowers from my stash to see which ones I would like to use here. They are all so amazing that it was a tough decision to make. But I hope I have have done justice to the flowers. I used assorted flowers from several packs. I used some white die cut leaves from my stash too.

                                                    FINAL LOOK: SHEER MAGIC

Hope you enjoyed this creative time with me. Bye till we meet again here,
Regards,

Ruchi

Hi friends and fellow crafters,
It's Ruchi here back with yet another project which has the message of HOPE.
I had this awesome oval alterable frame which I had purchased sometime back and never got to work on it. It was kind of peeking out of my stash and I decided to listen to its call. So here it goes... I have used crackle effect as the focal technique for this project. Hope you like it.

STEP BY STEP PROCESS:
Step 1: The first step is always to gather supplies. I have used the whitewashed alterable frame from Little Birdie crafts and the recently launched decoupage papers.

Next, I decided to use the Two step Crackle Medium. After I applied the base coat, I let it dry for 30 minutes and then applied the top coat. The thickness of the top coat will determine the size of cracks. Thicker the layer, wider the cracks. I let this coat dry naturally and then applied metallic wax to highlight the cracks.

Step 2: Next I decided to give a coat of Crackle Paste on to the entire frame. The Crackle Paste was applied and left to dry naturally. It is important to not use any heat tool for drying it. Again the thickness of the coat of this paste will determine the width of cracks. I gave it a medium coat.

Next, I used some chalk paints and wax to form a base layer. After this, I again sprayed some Color Splash - Mocha to add depth.

Step 3:Now comes the most exciting part as I decided to use the gorgeous flowers from my stash. Little Birdie's collection of flowers are simply out of this world and the best in the market. It is always a challenge to choose from the vast array of the flowers as all of them are so pretty!

  FINAL PROJECT
I used some micro stones, glitters, metal embellishment and clay castings to finish my project. The clay castings are highlighted with metallic wax. Hope you like the project. Some closeup pics...........

See you soon. Keep crafting and enjoy!
Love
Ruchi
